BEST BEAUTY PRODUCTS OF 2017!

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again but 2018 is fast approaching and it’s time for me to sit down and tell you guys what beauty products have been floating my boat for the past twelve months. I always get really excited to gather up my ultimate faves from the year to see what I’ve been loving and using. I’ve fallen in love with A LOT of new beauty products during 2017, but I’ve also been loyal to a lot of the tried, tested and true items in my makeup and skincare wardrobe. MAKEUP / FACE

It seems natural to kick things off with the base and one of the stand out products of 2017 for me (and pretty much everyone else on the planet!) is the It Cosmetics CC Cream. This is one of the BEST affordable base products that I’ve ever used and what I love the most about it is the way that it feels on my skin; it’s a really lightweight, silky smooth formula but it gives a slightly fuller coverage than some of the other CC creams I’ve tried over the years. It gives my skin a gorgeous, dewy glow and stays fresh-looking all day. I LOVE it! Another base product that I’ve used to death this year is the Lancôme Miracle Cushion Foundation. Again, this is gives a super dewy finish and feels like a dream to apply and wear. This is a must-have if you’re into that ‘barely there’ makeup look. I know I’m going to be just as obsessed with these two products in 2018 too.

One of the products that I got the most excited about this year was the Fresh Instant Glow Luminizer. This is basically a sheer illuminating cream that you can wear alone or on the top of your foundation to give your skin some extra stunning glow! I like to apply this right after my base by taking a teeny weeny blob of product onto my fingertips and lightly pressing it onto my skin. Concealer-wise I’ve been switching between the Nars Soft Matte Concealer and Glossier Stretch Concealer all year. I love both of these concealers because they feel so comfortable and hydrating on my skin. They’re both super buildable and do a great job at masking any imperfections without feeling dry or looking cakey. Goals.

Another product from the Lancôme Cushion range that I’ve been obsessing over is the Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil. I have quite a few different shades in the cushion blushes but ‘Rose Givree’ is the one that I’ve been reaching for the most during 2017. I love the cushion blushes because they give my face a really natural flush of colour and are super easy to build and blend. The stand out bronzer for me HAS to be the Benefit Hoola Lite; it’s the perfect shade for my pale complexion and does a great job at contouring away last night’s Dominos (lol). Like every other beauty lover in the world I’ve found myself falling more and more in love with the Glossier Haloscope. If you’re on the hunt for a highlighter that gives your skin the peeerrrrrfect dewy glow then the Haloscope is a must-have in your makeup bag. This is the kind of product that looks good all year round (the formula also has REAL crystals in it…wow!)

MAKEUP / EYES

This year has been all about the brows for me so of course I had to take a minute to mention one of my most used brow products to date…the It Cosmetics ‘Brow Power’ Universal Brow Pencil. Basically the Universal Brow Pencil is a brow product that suits all brow colours and all complexions (amazing right!?) the shade that you create basically depends on how much pressure you apply to the pencil. I adore this! For the eyes I’ve been loving the Charlotte Tilbury ‘Eyes To Mesmerise’ Cream Eyeshadows. You guys know I’m all about that stress-free makeup life so these shadows are PERFECT because I can just take a little of the product onto my finger tip and apply it straight to my lids. These shadows are great for achieving that ‘effortlessly put together’ look that I adore.

MAKEUP / LIPS

Onto my favourite part now…the lips! It’s probably no surprise to most of you that the first item on my list is one of the stunning Surratt Lipsliques. I’ve spoken about the Lipsliques too many times to count and that’s because they’re genuinely one of my all time favourite lipstick formulas…EVER! Lately I’ve been loving the shade ‘Bandy’ (a classic rose toned nude) but you might also have seen me wearing ‘Ladybug’ (a beautiful orangey red). Of course I’m still a dedicated fangirl of the Lancôme Matte Shakers; over the past few weeks I’ve been wearing the shade ‘Beige Vintage’ to death! Chanel Lipsticks always steal my heart so of course I had to include one of the Rouge Coco Shines in the shade ‘Boy’ in this post! For balms I have to take a second to mention the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm (this nourishes my lips like nothing else!) as well as the Dior Colour Reviver Balm (which adds a subtle tint of colour). I have soooo many ‘favourite’ lip products so it was super hard for me to narrow this list down!

SKINCARE / CLEANSE & MOISTURISE

First up is my holy grail…the Garnier Micellar Water. I’ve been using the Garnier Micellar Water for years and simply can’t take my makeup off without it. It’s so kind and gentle on my skin and does a great job at getting rid of every last scrap of product on my face. After cleansing I’ll almost always reach for the MV Organics Rose Plus Booster which is a soothing blend of essential oils that all help to calm and strengthen the skin. This is a great product to use if you suffer with sensitive skin like me. For serum I’ve been loving the Lancôme Advanced Genefique which is uhhhhhmaaaazing at not only hydrating the skin, but improving radiance, clarity and texture too. Last up on my skincare list is something for the bod and that’s the Mixa Soothing Body Lotion. This is literally one of the most affordable items in my skincare wardrobe and it nourishes my skin like nothing else. You HAVE to try it!

SKINCARE / MASKS

Masks are one of my all time favourite things to talk about so I’m super excited to tell you guys which ones have been floating my boat the most this year. It’s probably no surprise to you that 2 out of 3 of the masks I’m about to mention are by Fresh…they’re just the best! I’ve probably been reaching for the Umbrian Clay Mask the most this year, it’s great at giving my skin the ultimate deep cleanse and always leaves my face feeling funky fresh. Another deep cleansing mask that I’ve been loving is the Pai AHA Mask; I usually apply a really generous layer to my face and leave it for around 15 minutes. After washing this off I feel like a brand new woman! I’m pretty sure you all knew I was going to mention the Fresh Rose Face Mask; this is probably my all time favourite mask from the Fresh collection. I mean…it has real rose petals in it…what’s not to love!? I’m excited to discover some new masks in 2018.

HAIRCARE / STYLING

I’ve gone through soooo many bottles of the Pureology ‘Hydrate’ Shampoo and Conditioner over the past year. Ever since I started colouring my hair I’ve noticed how dry and brittle it feels so this hydrating Pureology duo is the combo I reach for whenever my hair is in need of some TLC. I also lurrrve how fresh and clean this stuff smells, I feel like a minty queen whenever I use this stuff. For styling I’ve been loyal to the Ouai Wave Spray (I can’t get enough of those beach babe tresses) and I’ve also been reaching for the L’Oreal Professionnel ‘Next Day Hair’ Texturising Powder. This combo gives my hair ultimate texture and helps my style to last all day.
